Panthers To Re-Sign Defensive Tackle Kyle Love
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers are set to re-sign defensive tackle Kyle Love prior to Sunday’s matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.
Love was one of the final players cut when the Panthers trimmed their roster to 53 players before the start of the regular season.
Love appeared in 15 games in 2015, his first full season with the team.
First-round draft pick Vernon Butler is expected to miss several weeks with a high ankle sprain suffered in Carolina’s loss to Minnesota. The Panthers are looking to maintain their depth along the defensive line, and Love’s familiarity with the defense allows him to re-enter the rotation seamlessly.
The Panthers face the Atlanta Falcons Sunday at 1 p.m. in Atlanta.
