UNC Chapel Hill Says They May Have Found A Cure For Alzheimer’s

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Researchers at the University of North Carolina say they have made a groundbreaking discovery that could help the millions of Americans with Alzheimer’s disease.

Lacanemab was approved early last year and it’s the only drug on the market which slows the progression of Alzheimer’s rather than only targeting symptoms.

Just last week, researchers at UNC announced a groundbreaking discovery about the way the protein in the brain, which causes Alzheimer’s, forms.

The hope is that further studies could reveal a way to essentially reversing the impacts of Alzheimer’s.
