The York County Coroner’s Office has identified 62-year-old Charlie Baker as the person killed Sunday, March 3rd in a shooting involving deputies. Autopsy and toxicology will be completed this week. According to a news release, Swat Team member Berlin Gipson, who fired his refile during the incident has been placed on paid administrative leave. The death is still under investigation by South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the York County Coroner’s Office.

YORK COUNTY, S.C. – One person is dead following an officer-involved shooting in York County on Sunday morning, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
It happened on Alexander Love Highway between Lincoln Road and Highway 321. This area was closed in both directions until 8 a.m.
Authorities said one person was killed, but no officers were physically hurt in the incident. The shooting was first reported at 4:12 a.m.
The shooting is under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
