Salisbury Police Arrest Suspect In Connection To 2022 Murder

SALISBURY, N.C. – Police have arrested one suspect in connection to a homicide case in Salisbury from 2022.

The incident happened on March 3rd, 2022 at 1030 Freeland Drive in Salisbury. A shooting happened at the residence that left Michael Dwayne Connor Jr. dead from a gunshot wound.

On March 8th, 2024, over two years later, police announced the arrest of 21-year-old Dequan Qunshaun Hairston on an outstanding warrant for murder.

Police did not provide any additional detail on the arrest or the homicide case.

Hairston is being held without bond at the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center.
