Police: 2 Teens Charged For Murder Of Elderly Concord Woman

UPDATE: Concord Police say they have arrested and charged two 17-year-olds in connection to the murder of 90-year-old Gilma Goodman.

17-year-olds Anthony Cooper and Isaiah Powell have been charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted Robbery w/ a Dangerous Weapon and Discharge Weapon into Occupied Property Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Investigators say Cooper and Powell went to Goodman’s home the night of October 5th with the intention of robbery, but during that robbery Goodman was shot and killed.

Police had previously released descriptions of three suspects in the case, but there is no word yet on whether they are still searching for a third.

UPDATE: Police have released the descriptions of three suspects in connection to the murder of Gilma Goodman.

According to officials, three males with dark complexions were seen in the area of Goodman’s home the night of her murder. Two suspects are described as around 5’10”, 150-180lbs, wearing shorts and red hooded sweatshirts. The other suspect is described as 6’0″-6’3″, around 120lbs, clean shaven, and wearing a white tank top with shorts.

CONCORD, N.C. — Police say a 90-year-old woman was murdered in Concord.

Police were called to a home on McKinnon Avenue NE around 10pm on October 5th after Gilma Goodman was found dead inside.

No other information has been released at this time.  Police say they are following up on leads and conducting interviews.
