CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person died at the hospital after suffering a gunshot wound near South End on Saturday night.
It happened in the 400 block of Fairwood Avenue near South Tryon Street just after 7 p.m.
Authorities said they originally responded to the area in regards to a suspected overdose call. When officers arrived, a male victim with life-threatening injuries was transported to the hospital.
There, police said the victim was found with a gunshot wound. The man later died at the hospital.
Police did not say if they are searching for any suspects at this time.
This incident remains under investigation.
