CHARLOTTE, NC- Gov. Pat McCrory just asked people in low-lying areas in his state to brace for flooding — inland as well as along the shores.
“This has the potential for the worst flooding since Hurricane Floyd,” he said during a Saturday morning news conference. Floyd hit North Carolina hard in 1999, making landfall near Cape Fear as a category 2.
“It’s not just about the beaches. It’s (also) inland where we can have loss of life,” he said as Hurricane Matthew approached.
