Hardy released the following statement, “I’m very focused and exited to start my MMA career.  I am going to do this the right way; I can assure you of that.”

Hardy was not picked up by any NFL team for the 2016 season after his controversial year with the Dallas Cowboys.

Prior to his stint in Dallas, Hardy was let go with the Carolina Panthers after a domestic violence charge that stemmed from an incident with his ex-girlfriend Nicole Holder.

Holder did not show up at the trial to testify and the charges were dropped.  Hardy was suspended for 10 games due to the investigation.    That suspension was later reduced to four games.

Hardy was also arrested last week in Texas for being in possession of cocaine.
