CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Detention Officer with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office was arrested for providing a mobile phone to a resident in the the Mecklenburg County
Detention Center-Central (MCDCC).
Dillon’s Employment with MCSO began October 20th, 2021, and ended March 12th, 2024.
An investigation commenced following reports of an illegal item inside MCDCC, During the investigation, it was found that Dillon had provided a resident with a mobile phone.
State law prohibits mobile phones to people in custody in a local confinement facility.Dillon was Charged accordingly.
“Unlawful activities within our facility will not be tolerated and will be thoroughly investigated. Staff and resident safety are one of our top priorities and actions like this compromises that. I commend my staff
for their thorough investigation,” said Sheriff McFadden.
