PINEVILLE, N.C. – Police arrested a man after he allegedly shot his roommate during an argument over an unpaid electricity bill on Wednesday.
Officers responded to a call on Meadow Creek Lane at the Pineville Place Apartments around 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers say they were waved down by a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip.
The responding officer was told by the victim that the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Joseph Hall, was inside the apartment, according to a police report.
Upon entering the residence, officers located Hall and apprehended him without incident.
Shortly after, the victim was transported to the hospital.
After further investigation, officers learned from the victim that the shooting resulted from an argument about an unpaid bill, according to a police report.
The victim stated that the argument started while Hall was in the bathroom. An altercation ensued and ultimately ended with the victim being shot, according to a police report.
Police charged Hall with assault with a deadly weapon.

PINEVILLE, N.C. — Police say one person was injured in a shooting at an apartment complex in Pineville.
The shooting happened just after 10:30pm at the Pineville Place Apartments on Meadow Creek Lane. Officers say the shooting was not random and the suspect was taken into custody.
No charges have been announced at this time and the shooting is still under investigation. The person injured sustained non-life threatening injuries from a gunshot wound, according to a news release.
