CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte man is facing charges after falsely impersonating an officer on multiple occasions, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
William Mohr Eubank, 37, allegedly claimed to be a law enforcement officer numerous times between 2021 and 2024.
On April 14th, 2021, officials said Eubank claimed to be a U.S. Department of Justice officer. He pretended to be working on a Joint Couterterrorism Task Force to acquire a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe with police lights, siren, console and partition push bar.
On May 19th, 2021, Eubank also allegedly said he was working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He made false statements to the CMPD to obtain police radio codes for his “issued’ Chevrolet Tahoe, officials said.
Lastly, on January 21st, 2024, the 37-year-old allegedly claimed to be a Special Agent for Homeland Security Investigations. Officials said he made erroneous statements to Sugar Mountain police officers, claiming he worked with multiple law enforcement agencies.
Eubank will remain in custody until his detention hearing.
