Police Identify Additional Suspect In Homicide Case

Update

CMPD detectives have identified an additional suspect in connection to the death of 17-year-old Kaleb Brown. CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team is searching for 18-year-old Terrance Cordell McKnight Jr. and is asking for the public’s assistance in finding him. McKnight should be considered armed and dangerous.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD detectives identified and charged a 17-year-old in connection to a homicide case that occurred on April 12, 2024 on Boswell Road, according to a news release.

The release states that on April 12, police discovered a deceased 17-year-old Kaleb Brown with a gunshot wound on Boswell Road near Harrisburg Road after responding to an assault with a deadly weapon call. As a result of a homicide investigation, detectives identified another 17-year-old juvenile as a suspect.

Police say that on April 23, members of the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located and arrested the teen and was interviewed by detectives. As a result of the interview, detectives charged the juvenile with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and robbery with a dangerous weapon, as said in the release.
