Rabies Cases Being Investigated In Multiple Counties
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A warning has been issued as officials investigate multiple rabies cases in our area.
In Gaston County, officials there are looking into a second case after being called to a home on Carolyn Circle in Gastonia earlier this week.
Investigators say a family dog attacked a raccoon that tested positive for rabies. That is the second confirmed case in the county this year.
In Rowan County, the Animal Shelter says a cat there tested positive for rabies. The cat was found in Mount Ulla near Highway 801.
The shelter is reminding everyone to not touch or pick up wild or spray animals and to keep all your animals’ rabies vaccines current. Click HERE for more details on how you can keep your pets safe.
