Police: Two Robberies Led to SWAT Standoff
CHARLOTTE, NC — New information in the case of three teenagers arrested after barricading themselves inside a Charlotte motel room last week. Police now say two robberies led up to that SWAT standoff.
Police arrested 17-year-old Daquan Erwin, 18-year-old Vaque Davis, and a 15-year-old charged as a juvenile.
Officers initially said the men broke into a Concord Mills Bass Pro Shop and stole guns. Now police say Davis and Erwin are responsible for breaking into Chola’s Grill on Weddington Road before the gun thefts.
They say those crimes led to the standoff at the Days Inn on Sugar Creek Road.
