CHARLOTTE, N.C. – U.S. Attorney Dena King sentenced 27-year-old Kayrin English to two years in prison and one year of supervised release for dealing in firearms without a license.
As a result of an ATF investigation, it was revealed that English applied for 43 firearms purchase permits between February 2020 and September 2021. In September of 2021, English was to collect seven of the permits when ATF agents approached her and she consented to an interview.
English admitted that she would use the permits to purchase firearms and then resell to those who prohibited from owning or purchasing a firearm for profit. According to court records, English admitted to ATF agents that she illegally sold 15 to 20 firearms since January 2021. Most of the firearms sold were locally in Charlotte, but English said she had traveled to New Jersey to sell firearms she bought in Charlotte.
On October 31, 2023, English pleaded guilty to dealing in firearms without a license.
