CHARLOTTE, N.C. – 24-year-old Marques McBride pled guilty to second-degree murder in the death of his mother, Santavius McBridge, and has been sentenced to 300-372 months in prison by Judge Eady-Williams.

On July 7, 2023, McBride shot and killed his mother after multiple discussions about his lack of employment. McBride turned himself into CMPD and confessed to the killing.
