4th Annual Pink Cupcake Walk At Truist Field On October 5th
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Registration is open for the fourth Annual Pink Cupcake Walk & Breast Cancer Lap. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 7:30-11 a.m. at Truist Field at 324 S. Mint Street in Uptown Charlotte.
“The Pink Cupcake Walk is a one-of-a-kind event filled with sweetness, smiles, hugs and special moments. We are honored and delighted to be part of this year’s event and look forward to the community joining us in a celebration of survivorship, helping lift those who fight, and remembering those we have lost,” said Susan Evren, executive director of Go Jen Go. “Grab your friends, family and neighbors, and join us for a morning of love, support and fun to walk, enjoy delicious cupcakes, and cheer on breast cancer survivors, fighters and thrivers.”
In commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, participants will don pink attire (along with green and teal signifying metastatic breast cancer), walk one mile (four laps) around the baseball field, and receive a mini cupcake from a local bakery after each lap. Breast cancer survivors, fighters and thrivers will also take a personal lap following the Pink Cupcake Walk. Participants who need mobility assistance are welcome to use their personal scooters or can choose to sit in the stands and have a volunteer collect their cupcakes. Local bakeries include Kupkake Kouture Charlotte, Dream Cupcakes, Sunshine’s Southern Kitchen and Dariela’s Sweet Taste.
Immediately following the event, Truist Field will be transformed into the Mecklenburg Oktoberfest fall festival with live music, kids’ activities, food and drinks. For a minimum $50 donation to the Pink Cupcake Walk, donors will receive coins for food and beverage at Mecklenburg Octoberfest. These coins can also be purchased onsite. The cost to participate in the Pink Cupcake Walk is $30 per person until Aug. 16 and then increases to $35/person. Participants must sign up by Sept. 5 to be guaranteed a 2024 Pink Cupcake Walk T-shirt. A portion of the proceeds will support Go Jen Go. Register online at https://bit.ly/2024CupcakeWalk.
