HICKORY, N.C. – 89-year-old John McDowell Jr., who is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment, is missing and was last seen at his residence on 21st Avenue Drive.

McDowell is described as a white 89-year-old man, stands at 6’0″ tall, weighs 210 pounds and has blue eyes.
He was last seen at his residence, 1141 21st AVE DR NE in Hickory at 1:00 a.m. by his wife and EMS Personnel, after his wife was taken to Frye Region Medical Center. McDowell was expected to go to the hospital, but never arrived.
His vehicle description is a 2013 silver Honda CRV.
