BURKE COUNTY, N.C. – An ultra-light glider crashed in Burke County after striking several trees and crash-landing in the woods, according to a news release.
The release states that on July 1 at 9:10 a.m., 45-year-old Christopher Short crash landed in Burke County after departing from a private airfield and striking several trees.
North Carolina Highway Patrol secured the scene and Short was transported to a hospital in Asheville by helicopter with non-life-threatening injuries, as said in the release.
