UPDATE: Officials with NCDOT say they have decided to postpone construction tonight on I-85 south in Concord due to inclement weather.

CONCORD, NC — NCDOT officials say multiple lanes will be closed on I-85 south in Concord for construction beginning Tuesday night and lasting into Wednesday morning.
The two right lanes of I-85 south between mile markers 53 and 52 will close at 9pm, and a third lane will close at 11pm. That will leave only one lane open until construction is completed around 5am Wednesday morning.
The construction should be complete and lanes reopened before morning rush hour.
Drivers are reminded to be aware of and obey construction zone traffic law changes, and use alternate routes to avoid any possible delays.
