PINEVILLE, N.C. — The repair of a broken water pipe near Carolina Place Mall will continue through the weekend.
Crews are working to repair a broken drinking water valve and fire line connection under Lancaster Highway.
No customers are without water but city officials say the repair is difficult and required a special part be shipped to complete the work.
Traffic is being detoured during the repair and drivers should also consider alternate routes.
Friday, a temporary valve will be installed on the water line, and the permanent valve should be in place by Sunday.
Depending on the weather, repaving may begin as early as Monday.
