Gastonia K9’s Track Breaking And Entering Suspects A Mile Through Woods

GASTONIA, N.C. – Two Gastonia K9 bloodhounds tracked two individuals who were suspected of breaking into vehicles, according to a news release.

The release states that on July 29, Gastonia Police Department K9 officers were requested to track and find two break-in suspects who fled on foot after allegedly breaking into vehicles.

Officers say they were called to a housing development near Old Dallas Highway and began their search after witnesses say the suspects ran into the woods at the end of Auten Road.

K9 Officer Willis says he and his K9 Taco tracked one mile into the woods and found both suspects, one of which was a juvenile who was taken into custody and the other fled and ran deeper into the woods.

K9 Bo and Sergeant David Rowland tracked the second suspect who hid in a thick brush. The suspect ran again, but a perimeter was set up, resulting in the suspect being taken into custody, as stated in the release.
