Speed, Alcohol Factor Into Fatal Northwest Charlotte Wreck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say speed and alcohol were factors in a fatal northwest Charlotte wreck Friday night.

Reports indicate Michael Robert Kneepens, 58, was the only occupant of a vehicle which ran off Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road around 11:00 p.m.

Kneepen’s vehicle drove several feet in the grass before crashing into two large trees. Β Police say Kneepens was not wearing a seatbelt, and died at the scene.
