Concord Firefighters Rescue Family’s Dog From Burning House

CONCORD, N.C. – A family and their pets are safe thanks to the quick response of the Concord Fire Department to a house fire that broke out earlier this morning.

At 9:49 a.m. on September 16, 2024, the Concord Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 4630 Falcon Chase Dr SW in Concord. Firefighters were on scene in less than five minutes and saw smoke showing from the home.

The residents were not home when the fire started. One resident returned to the home and was the scene with firefighters. The resident told firefighters that one of their dogs was still inside the burning house. Two other dogs had run outside on their own when the front door was opened. Concord firefighters located and safely removed the third dog from the burning house. The dog was reunited with its owner and did not require medical care at the scene.

A total of 28 firefighters responded, along with four Engine Companies, two Ladders Companies, three Battalion Chiefs and one Safety Officer through multiple departments.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
