
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The AIDS WALK returns to Charlotte on Saturday, May 3rd. The event will bring together over 2,000 participants who walk in memory of those who have finished their journey, walk as advocates for those infected and walk to help stop the spread of HIV and AIDS.
This year marks the 18th anniversary of raising awareness for those living with HIV and AIDS. AIDS WALK Charlotte benefits RAIN (Regional AIDS Interfaith Network), one of the largest HIV nonprofits in the Carolinas that provides critical, health improving and life sustaining services to persons infected with HIV and those family members and significant others affected by HIV and AIDS.
Their mission is to engage the community to transform lives and promote respect and dignity for all people touched by HIV through compassionate care, education and leadership development.
Registration for the AIDS WALK Charlotte begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd. The opening program and awards will be held at 9:30 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Gateway Village Promenade, 800 W. Trade Street Charlotte, NC 28202.
