Lowe’s To Cut More Than 500 Corporate-Based Jobs

CHARLOTTE, NC — Lowe’s announced Tuesday that they will be cutting several hundred corporate-based positions in North Carolina as they try to adapt to the constantly changing retail landscape.

Officials say the changes are part of a plan to make corporate-based positions more efficient and responsive to ever changing customer needs. 430 corporate office jobs in Mooresville are being cut, according to a statement, along with 70 support positions in Wilkesboro and another 25 corporate support positions at other facilities.

Employees affected by these changes will receive competitive separation offerings, and can also apply for any other open roles throughout the company.

Lowe’s also recently announced the addition of 600 support contact center and central production office positions in Wilkesboro.

The company says their employment presence in N.C. will remain consistent through the recent staffing change announcements. Officials say they will remain one of the state’s top three largest employers and committed to their philanthropy programs throughout the community.
