CONCORD, NC — A man accused of attacking people inside Concord Mills Mall remains locked up in Cabarrus County under $78,000 bond.  We now have the 911 call from some of the victims.

“I was just walking with my baby, and a man just came and punched me in the face,” said one.

“He’s coming in with a bench.  He’s, um, gonna, he’s trying to assault my manager and break cabinets,” said another.

David Simpson is accused of assaulting several shoppers, then the manager of a jewelry store on Tuesday.  Police say he also tried to steal a box truck in the parking lot.  Simpson faces nearly a dozen charges, including assault and resisting officers.  There’s no word on a motive for the attacks.
