Second Suspect Wanted In Lancaster Homicide
LANCASTER, S.C. – Police are searching for a 31-year-old man in connection to the murder of Jelani Jackson in Lancaster earlier this month.
Lamonta Roberts, is wanted on charges of murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He has also violated his federal probation.
Roberts is 5-foot-8 and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He is described as an African American man with brown eyes and black hair. He also goes by “Goochie” and “Six Hunnit.”
Roberts is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone that sees him is asked not to approach and call 911 immediately.
The shooting happened on September 4th along Clinton Avenue near Ruth Street in Lancaster, South Carolina. Upon arrival, officers located Jackson, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
A week later on September 11th, police charged 19-year-old Kenyan Blair for his involvement in Jackson’s death. Blair was already in custody on unrelated charges.
