IREDELL COUNTY, NC — A 19-year-old man faces charges including First Degree Kidnapping, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Statutory Rape after the alleged sexual assault of a North Iredell High School student.
According to reports, Jaylen Minger of Gastonia was identified by the victim after she told investigators she had left school with Minger on multiple occasions and went to a location in Salisbury. It was there officials say the victim claims she was sexually assaulted.
Iredell County deputies issued warrants charging Minger with one count of First Degree Kidnapping and three counts of Contributing to Delinquent of Juvenile. Statesville Police have also issued a warrant charging Minger with Statutory Rape of a Child.
Minger was arrested by Gastonia Police Monday and has received a $150,000 secure bond on all charges.
