Police Searching For Suspect Wanted For Shooting Man At Longhorn Steakhouse

UPDATE:  The CMPD says George Irving Rivens has been taken into custody.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have released the name of the man they say shot another man in the bathroom of Longhorn Steakhouse off Old Mallard Creek Road in north Charlotte.

George Irving Rivens (aka “Tan”) is wanted on outstanding warrants for Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits.

Rivens was last seen in the University area and is known to frequent southeast Charlotte.  The victim in the shooting was taken to a local hospital after being shot in the leg.  Police say the victim and Rivens knew each other.
