Truck Driver Killed In Chester County Crash Identified

UPDATE: The driver killed in Friday’s accident has been identified as 79-year-old Floyd Sims of Newberry.

CHESTER, S.C. — A truck driver was killed after he struck a large tree that had fallen in the roadway in Chester County.

The wreck happened just before 9am on Friday on SC 72.  Investigators say the truck hit the tree then went down an embankment and overturned.  The driver was reportedly ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
