Β CHARLOTTE, NC — More than 700 middle school students from Charlotte-Mecklenburg middle schools got to hang out with the Panthers’ starting quarterback Friday. Β The Cam Newton Foundation held the second annual School Pride Day at memorial stadium in the Elizabeth neighborhood. Β The reason Newton enjoys holding these events is so he can give back to area kids.

“Put on events like this,” Newton said, “in a great way today.”

The Panthers also locked Newton down until 2015 on Friday. Β Check out more on that story on our Sports page.
