SALISBURY, NC – Arson investigators are calling a fire in a bus in Salisbury an accident. They say an electrical issue caused the fire Monday night on Klumac Road. A 48-year-old man named Michael Osterhus was found dead inside the bus.

SALISBURY, NC – Salisbury Police and the Salisbury Fire Department are investigating after a person was found dead inside a burning bus. It happened around 9:15 pm on Monday. Police and fire responded to a bus fire at 735 Klumac Road. Firefighters say the bus was engulfed in flames. They say crews quickly extinguished the fire and searched the vehicle. They found a person dead inside the bus. Now, investigators are working to determine the identity of that person.
One firefighter received minor burns to the face during their response. They received medical attention and should be fine.
