Burrito Shop Shuts Down After Accusations

The popular pop-up Mexican food truck closed down following accusations that it was culturally appropriating Mexican food and jobs. The two women that opened the shop are white. In the profile about their business, the women described how they became obsessed with tortillas in a Mexican town and tried to get the recipes from the women making them there. They said the women wouldn’t tell them too much about their technique, but they were peeking into the windows of every kitchen.  Through trial and error, the women created their own spin on the tortilla and opened up their Portland burrito shop.
