National Institues of Health calling for more action on bird flu

Leaders at the National Institutes of Health are calling for more action on bird flu.   

The agency said  dozens of people in the US contracted bird flu in 2024. 

A study of those cases shows symptoms were mild.   

However scientists are concerned about a case in Canada where a teen became seriously ill.  

A report in the New England journal of medicine says the teen’s heart, lungs, and kidneys failed, but she recovered after nearly two weeks in the hospital.
