RALEIGH, N.C. — The North Carolina House of Representatives has given initial approval to the republican’s two-year government budget plan.
The $23 billion spending plan provides raises of about one thousand dollars to state employees and separate money accolated for teachers and principal pay increase.
The vote is the latest step toward getting a final spending plan in place before the fiscal year begins on July 1st.
Governor Roy Cooper issued a response to the budget, stating:
“This budget misses huge opportunities to spur econimic development and help North Carolina learn the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.”
