MECKLENBURG COUNTY, NC — As property appraisal staff work to canvass the county, officials are telling property owners to be on the lookout for scammers.
Official county workers will identify themselves as county appraisers, according to officials, and will have county-issued identification cards. The county appraisers will also be driving marked county vehicles, and typically wear shirts with the Assessor’s Office logo.
The county says workers will NOT ask to enter your home. Interior viewings are by appointment only and officials say two employees will always be present.

The County Assessorβs Office also posts the neighborhoods where appraisers will be working that week. You can find the list atΒ mecknc.gov/assessorsoffice. Residents of those neighborhoods willΒ alsoΒ beΒ notified through theΒ NextdoorΒ online social network.
