SALISBURY, NC — Police are investigating a fatal accident that happened Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Jake Alexander Boulevard and Faith Road.
Police say the accident happened around 2:20pm. According to reports, Andrew Culp was hit by another driver while going through the intersection on a green light. Officials say Culp tried to avoid the other vehicle, but was hit and knocked into a power pole. Neither Culp nor his passenger were injured in the accident.
The other vehicle, a Ford F-150, ran over the curb and into the yard of the Thrivent Financial business office after the collision. Police say the driver of the truck was ejected and died at the scene. The name of that driver has not been released.
Police say the investigation into the accident is still ongoing.
