New poll shows Americans divided on public health issues

CHARLOTTE, N.C.– Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Trump’s pick to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, faces congress for his confirmation hearings this week. It comes as a new poll shows views are split along partisan lines when it comes to the new administrations views on public health issues. The survey found democrats are more than twice as likely as republicans to say they trust the CDC. Just over half the adult population says they trust the HHS to make the right recommendations around health. When it comes to vaccines, the survey shows the vast majority of U.S. adults still believe the benefits of vaccines outweigh the risks. The survey data was published Tuesday by KFF, a nonprofit health policy research, polling and news organization.
