“Race for The Net,” author discusses the role African Americans played in the development of the Internet

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Mr. Albert White is a tech leader who has witnessed the evolution of the internet and has played a key role in its development.
He was responsible for negotiating the most significant subcontract AT&T had ever signed with a minority-owned business in the ’90s.
He was a member of the original management team that first commercialized the Internet, Network Solutions. All of these topics are discussed in his book, “Race for the Net” he discusses all these topics and more. White will additionally be speaking at Johnson C Smith University this Thursday to discuss his book and its impact.
