CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation has announced the third annual Book Club Madness, a unique competition designed to engage and celebrate book clubs throughout Mecklenburg County. Kicking off on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and running through April 8, 2025, this event is inspired by the excitement of March Madness.
Through multiple creative activities, it seeks to encourage book club members to participate in a series of weekly challenges to earn points for their teams.
Activities include visiting library branches, sharing favorite book club reads, checking out books or e-books, and engaging with the Library’s social media platforms. Additionally, Participants can score two-pointers, three-pointers, and free throws, with opportunities to win fun weekly prizes and, of course, bragging rights.
Book Club Madness aims to promote literacy, foster community engagement, and celebrate the vibrant book club culture within Mecklenburg County. All book clubs in Mecklenburg County are invited to participate.

To participate, book clubs, with at least two registered members, should register online. Once registered, members will receive weekly emails from the Library Foundation detailing information about the challenges and how to submit points online.
Deadline to register is Sunday, March, 2nd.
