MORGANTON, NC — The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says a 61-year-old woman that was found Tuesday morning appears to have died from self-inflicted wounds.
Officials say the woman was found inside her home at the J & R Mobile Home Park on NC 18-Hwy 64 just after 9am. Deputies called the SBI to assist in the investigation.
Detectives say the victim’s wounds appear to be self inflicted based on gathered evidence and the results of Wednesday morning’s autopsy.
Officials say the investigation is still ongoing.
