Huntersville family fundraising for lifesaving surgery and recovery of teen
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — We’ve heard the saying it takes a village to raise a child and according to Huntersville mom Alesha Tuck.
When it comes to her 15 year old son T.J., it’s also taking a village to save him.
T.J., referred to lovingly as the champ of the family has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and autism.
Alesha says while his doctors were trying to treat some of the challenges that came with these, things took a downward turn. After taking the medication, “Depakote” he developed chronic pancreatitis. The latest diagnosis led T.J. and his family to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for a lifesaving transplant made possible through kindness of groups like, The Ronald McDonald House and COTA (Children’s Organ Transplant Association). You can learn more about T.J. and his fundraiser here.
