CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Officials are investigating a homicide after a man was found dead inside a burning home in Catawba County.
The fire was reported early Saturday morning at a home on U.S. 321 Highway in Newton. Β Crews found 40-year-old Harry Lewis Bruner, Jr. dead inside the home. Β After further investigation, detectives revealed that Bruner died from a gunshot wound.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Β No arrests have been made at this time. Β Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call 911 immediately.
