Prosecutors Not Seeking Death Penalty In Hickory Murder Case

CATAWBA COUNTY, NC — Prosecutors announced Wednesday they will not seek the death penalty against a Statesville man accused of murder.

According to officials, 41-year-old Bradley Davis is accused of murdering Shamar Wilson on June 17th. Officials say Davis shot Wilson near the Alessio’s Lounge early that morning, and then turned himself in to Hickory Police on June 19th.

Prosecutors say they will not pursue capitol punishment in the case. It remains under investigation.
