CMPD investigating homicide on Old Mt. Holly Road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person is dead after a shooting in west Charlotte.

It happened on Old Mount Holly Road just off Rozzelles Ferry Road.

When police arrived around 11 a.m. Saturday morning, they found a woman dealing with a medical issue. She was transported to the hospital where the medical staff discovered a gunshot wound to her chest. She died as a result of her injuries.

There is no word on what led up to the shooting or if police have any suspects.
