Charlotte Fire battles three-alarm fire in Uptown
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte firefighters battled a three-alarm fire at a business in Uptown on Saturday morning.
It happened in the 300 block of East Morehead Street.
Around 8 a.m., firefighters from several stations arrived, and smoke was showing upon arrival and that a second-alarm had been struck. A third alarm was struck around 8:42 a.m.
It took nearly two and a half hours to control the blaze. No injuries were reported, Medic said.

Investigators said the fire originated in the basement and that the roof and upper-level floor collapsed on the structure.
Morehead Street from Euclid Avenue to South Tryon Street was temporarily closed while firefighters worked to put out the fire.
The fire caused approximately $150,000 in property and content loss.
Investigators are still working to learn the cause of the fire.
