8am Couch Chat: Should Natural Disasters be Excused Absences for Work?

CHARLOTTE, NC — What’s left of hurricane Harvey in southeastern Texas is causing massive flooding.

People are stuck in their homes, or getting stuck outside in their cars when they try to drive on the flooded roads, because of the historical flooding.

Surprisingly, we’re seeing people being told to still come to work. We’re finding complaints all over social media of employers telling their employees to come into work … or you’re fired.

This morning, the couch crew is asking, should there be a law made so employers can’t do this to their employees?
