4th member of “Cabo Six” asks judge to dismiss lawsuit in Shanquella Robinson’s death

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A fourth member of the so-called “Cabo 6” is asking for Shanquella Robinson’s family’s lawsuit against them to be dismissed. Khalil Cooke is asking a federal judge to dismiss the case because he says North Carolina is not the proper venue.

Robinson died in October 2022 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Her family says they were told she died of alcohol poisoning, but an autopsy in Mexico claims she died of neck and spinal injuries.

A video on social media shows Robinson being attacked on the trip. Cooke’s attorney refers to him as a bystander, and says there is no allegation he participated in a fight.

The dismissal request also says the lawsuit should be heard in Mexico since “a substantial part of the plaintiffs’ claims” occurred there.

A federal judge will determine if the lawsuit should be dismissed at a later date.
