Charlotte Tops The List For Millennial Migration

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —Β Charlotte, North Carolina tops the list for net migration by Millennials, according to a study by SmartAsset.

The study looked at the migration patterns of people between the ages of 20 and 34 to determine where millennials are relocating.

North Carolina’s largest city saw a net increase of 10,707 millennials as 71,240 people in the age range moved in, while 60,533 moved out.

Charlotte beat out cities like Seattle, Oakland and Norfolk, which have also seen an increase in millennial migration.

According to the study, 18,000 millennials came from out of state and about 10,000 left for another state.

The numbers are derived from the 2015 census bureau and North Carolina ranks as the fourth most moved to state in the country.

The Queen City is growing, as evidenced by the omnipresent construction and strong real estate market.
